Notes From an Unfinished Studio

May 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Concrete floors, one lamp, a rail of samples, and a wall of things that didn't work.

The studio is not photogenic yet. There is a folding table, a garment rail, and a wall where rejected samples hang until we can articulate why they failed.

We keep the failures visible on purpose. The varsity jacket took four attempts. The first two are still up there — sleeves too short, lining too loud.

Working in the open changes what you are willing to ship. When your mistakes are on the wall, you stop defending them and start fixing them.

One day this room will look intentional. For now, it is accurate, which is better.

Still here. More to write.
