Why Weight Matters

We spent four months on a t-shirt. Here is what we were actually arguing about.

A garment tells you how seriously it was made within three seconds of picking it up. Weight is the first honest signal.

We went through eleven samples before landing on 240gsm. Lighter felt disposable. Heavier stopped draping and started standing on its own. The number was never the point — the point was the moment it felt like something you would keep.

Everything after that was subtraction. A narrower collar rib. A hem that survives the wash. A label small enough to forget about.

Quiet clothing is not a lack of design. It is design you can live inside for years without getting tired of it.
